The OGA was finally able to celebrate our annual Christmas dinner this year, after a lapse of two years due to the Covid pandemic. The doors opened for fellowship and camaraderie on 29th November at 7 pm at the Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand. Guests were treated to mulled wine and a strawberry punch while Voice Print, the band for the evening, set the tone with some beautiful 'a capella' carols.
The President of the OGA Mrs. Roshanara Page began the evening with her welcome speech in which she briefly spoke of the 'Main Hall Renovation Project', currently in the pipeline for Ladies' College. The evening witnessed lots of fun and dancing while members mingled with friends old and new. The table game was enjoyed by all in competitive spirit while the house game was concluded with fits of laughter and cheer with house songs sung from all corners of the oak room. Incidentally, Dale House won the game and everyone cheered as the house flags were hoisted in true LC spirit.
The baila competition was a treat to watch and was won by Nidaal Suby after some tough competition from an older member. A host of prizes were awarded for the entrance ticket draw, as well as spot gifts, which were presented for various entertaining and whimsical requirements, which members needed to meet.
The food consisted of amuse bouche and soup which was served at the table. The main meal included a festive Christmas spread with a Mexican and Italian touch, which was sumptuous and enjoyed by all. The Christmas pudding served to the guests was also delicious and was a fabulous start to the season's festive eatings.
The ladies made sure that the merry making continued into the night with non-stop dancing. It was indeed an unforgettable night, one, which will be recalled with fondness in the years to come.
